Amazon re:Invent

Amazon takes aim at AWS re:Invent

It's not everyday Amazon calls you up and asks for your assistance with their biggest technology conference

But that's exactly what happened with AWS re:Invent three years in a row. Having worked on various large-scale tradeshows including MIX, TechEd, and Build - Microsoft's Washington state competitor (Amazon) soon caught wind of our services. This lead to a multi-year contract of working directly with their events team. Here, I led the creative and marketing department that specialized in tradeshow displays and booth graphics. During our engagement, I designed and developed a variety of assets including keynote presentations, video kiosks, and promotional products for AWS re:Invent.

Event Registration Tracking

A vital piece of Amazon's tech conference was creating a dynamic landing page to draw attendees and promote lead registration. Here my team and I provided event tracking and registration forms to capture customer contact information. This included multiple email marketing touch-points and automation for quick follow-ups, thus keeping Amazon's audience engaged with the latest event news and promotional offerings.

Attendee Mobile Application

Get more out of your audience

One of the biggest opportunities we saw with AWS re:Invent, was the chance to build a mobile application exclusively for their attendees. In the app, audience members could book bootcamp training sessions, reserve seating information, consumer-exclusive content, and register for the event's after-party. My team and I were responsible for building the user interface and mobile experience of this application.

The bigger the booth, the bigger the brand recognition

That's why when I design a booth for Amazon, I strive to create a friendly and inviting space for their audience. Recognizing traffic flow, seating arrangements, and building materials that will help enhance each area is critical to creating an environment where people feel comfortable to network freely. That's exactly what we did with AWS re:Invent, here we outfitted their various booths with back walls, signage, and furniture to make their tradeshow a welcoming place for attendees.
