Warning, this brand contains explicit material and is only meant for adults with a sense of humor

CavityCrate is an in-store retailer of "adult" themed candy. This X-rated brand approached me for contract work to build out a variety of conceptual designs for their upcoming product releases. Working hand-in-hand with the product owner, CavityCrate asked me to develop a tongue-in-cheek approach not only to their branding... but a fresh and slightly-offensive style to their marketing copy. The goal was to inject humor into their brand and stylize each one of the individual candies as unique - thus promoting their counter-culture identity. I found the idea both creative and refreshing since it challenged me to think outside the box. Having never worked with food before at the time, I wanted to bring something new to the table and "wow" their consumers. The results were some of the most audacious packaging designs I have ever created. But... you know what they say, fortune favors the bold.

Buy a Blubberbar

Fudge so good, you can taste the fat

Developing the visuals for "Blubberbar" was exceptionally fun, and I wanted to focus on the idea of gluttony. Very much like Willy Wonka's Augustus Gloop - chocolate can be addictive, my goal was to play off this idea using alliteration and vectorized fountains of fudge.

Don't deny your diabetes!

As I mentioned before, CavityCrate is an adult-themed brand with many sexual overtones. The idea was to make their candy appear so desirable that the mere taste would elicit a visceral reaction. Consequently, I came up with the idea - why not use mapping and mesh gradients to mimic chocolate-covered underwear. The result was both alluring and seductively sweet.

Food Can Be Fun

One of my favorite assets to build for CavityCrate was a 15-second promotional advertisement that I built in After Effects. This video would air on Spotify and other marketing channels to showcase CavityCrate's new product line. And why not celebrate their launch with a chocolate breakdance? Sometimes in advertising, it's about cutting through the noise with content secondary to creativity.

All Natural Milk Chocolate

If this candy bar doesn't stop you in the aisles... I don't know what will. In what can be considered the boldest packaging I've ever designed, I went all out with the use of explicit photography and innuendo messaging. My goal was to shock consumers into laughter... I believe that if your advertising can make your audience laugh, humor alone will sell your product. The results have proven very successful as CavityCrate will soon be launching an online-store as their business continues to expand.
